How is a typical workday for you?
On a regular day I wake up at 7 o’clock, wake up the children if they are not awake yet. Sometimes my husband leave the children at school and sometimes I. After I have left the children I often go to the gym, I try to do that at least 3 times a week.
I try to be at the office at 9.15, drink a coffee and check if I have got any email´s. After that I draw in the computer or by hand, depending on what project I am working with. Each day I try to paint something that is not connected to any work, even if it´s only for 2 minutes.
If I pick up the children after school, I work when they are having exercises or after we have put our children to bed.
Where do you get inspiration from?
A lot of my ideas comes from my spontaneous drawing. A different shape that becomes someone or something. I get a lot of inspiration by being outside in the woods, in our garden and in the city. I also like to have a look in magazines or books, words and sentences have a big meaning for me. I take a look at Pinterest each day to have a look at beautiful colors and interesting images. You can almost say that I am addicted to Pinterest.
Do you have any illustrator that you take inspiration from?
I get a lot of inspiration from other illustrators and other creative people. There are a lot of great illustrators/designers such as Tove Jansson, Kate Pugsley, Yelena Bryksenkova, Beatrice Allemanga, Carson Ellis, Oliver Jeffers, Richard Faust, Camille Engman, Mike Lowerly and Helen Dardik.
